Pastor’s Bio
Pastor Wendell G. Parker is a spirit-filled preacher of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He accepted his calling to ministry at the age of sixteen under the leadership of Dr. Gerald Parker Sr. Pastor Parker performed coursework in English from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff and the University of North Dakota. He received a Bachelor of Theology from Slidell Baptist Seminary, where he graduated with honors. In 2008, he received a Master of Divinity. Currently, he is engaged in Theological studies at Regent University.
Pastor Parker accepted his first pastorate at the age of twenty-two to the Travelers Rest Baptist Church of Stuttgart, AR. Under his leadership, the congregation grew spiritually and numerically. He served Travelers Rest for five and a half years before the Lord led him to Oklahoma City. It was there that he accepted his call to the Ebenezer Baptist Church where he served for 11 years. Under his leadership at Ebenezer the Lord blessed them to grow spiritually, numerically, and communally. Ebenezer was blessed to burn the mortgage under Pastor Parkers leadership. After Ebenezer he served as interim Pastor for the Redeemer Baptist Church in Minneapolis, Mn for a year before moving to Philadelphia, Pa.
Pastor Parker has not ceased to develop as a servant of God. On July 23, 2023, Mount Pisgah Baptist Church Jacksonville, AR, his hometown, elected Pastor Parker as the new Pastor. He shares that he felt the love of the congregation and he is home where it all started.
Pastor Parker has worn numerous hats besides that of a Pastor. He served as 1st Vice President of the General Baptist Convention of Oklahoma Inc; Dean of the General Baptist Convention of Oklahoma Congress; and Bible Instructor for the Northeastern District Association.
He loves his family and believes in putting family first in his life after God. Ultimately, being a family man in his most significant accomplishment! Pastor Parker has been happily married to Lady Trayce Parker for 24 years serving together in love, family, ministry, and the community. They partner in parenting one son, one grandson and new granddaughter.
As Pastor Parker’s ministry continues to be blessed by God, his vision is simple, and that is “Let’s Do It Gods Way”!”
